BC Ferries have two main ports from the Mainland to Vancouver Island.

TSAWWASSEN TERMINAL

  • Car - 6 hr. Swartz Bay to Port Hardy

HORSESHOE BAY TERMINAL

  • Ferry - 1 hr. 40 min. Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay
  • Car - 4 hr. Departure Bay to Port Hardy.

  • North on BC-19
    (signs to Campbell RIver).
  • Continue straight through Campbell River on the BC-19.
    (signs to Port Hardy)
  • Turn Right onto Hardy Bay Rd.
  • Turn Right into Cape Scott Water Taxi (beside Quarter Deck Inn)

Water Taxi to Malei Island

Ride the ocean waves on the locally owned “Sea Legend 1”. Cape Scott Water Taxi's are guided by ticketed captains who have years of coastal waters knowledge. One-hour trip from Port Hardy Marina to Malei Island Resort.

Prebooked parking is available for $35 at the QuarterDeck Resort & Marina (not included).

Upon your arrival at the resort, a solar-powered vehicle, driven by our resort hosts, will transport you and your luggage to the lodge.

Fly to Port Hardy

Alongside the Vancouver International Airport is the Pacific Coastal Airlines airport. This small airport uses Beechcraft 1900's to transport its passengers from Vancouver to Port Hardy, BC (the northeastern tip of Vancouver Island). Pacific Coast Airlines

Taxi to Helicopter
